Multi-Hole Drilling Tool Path Planning and Cost Management through Hybrid SFLA-ACO Algorithm for Composites and Hybrid Materials

In the process of drilling multiple holes in composites and hybrid materials, almost 70% time is consumed tool traveling changing. Recently, researchers have focused on this consumption for optimization path. A literature review revealed following research gap: little work has been performed hybridization metaheuristics. present study, SFLA ACO metaheuristic algorithms carried out, which based gap. The provides originality novelty study. main objective study to minimize path problems. proposed algorithm was applied five benchmark multi-hole problems one industrial problem from literature. outcome evaluated with results dynamic programming (DP), ACO, an immune-based evolutionary approach (IA), a modified accuracy improved by 2.27% using algorithm, indicating that superior DP, IA, SFLA. Additionally, example were compared those reduced total cost 6.17% 3.76% SFLA, respectively. Thus, efficacy confirmed, along its applicability.
